Mohammedia.. Record holidaymaker numbers create boom and choke city streets

Heba Press – Casablanca
The city of Mohammedia is experiencing an unprecedented summer due to the high overcrowding and record demand from Moroccans, both national and foreign, on its beaches, especially since it is considered a medium-sized and inexpensive tourist city.
The summer demand for Mohammedia has helped create a great commercial boom in the city, which during the rest of the year is accustomed to great calm, as most of its spaces are now completely full.
Cafes, restaurants, hotels, furnished apartment owners, economic activity has moved, but at the same time it has caused major traffic jams in the city due to the lack of adequate road infrastructure and the poor quality of existing roads, which are dominated by potholes and “moss”, as traffic from the streets of Mohammedia does, it takes five times longer than usual.
