The judicial center elements in Tamenasourt, on Monday afternoon, managed to apprehend a person suspected of involvement in the trafficking of hard drugs, in the outskirts of Tamenasourt, while he was attempting to change his car's license plate, in a security operation that followed a three-day surveillance of his movements.
According to the available information, the suspect, "W.S.", was the subject of several arrest warrants at the security and gendarmerie levels, due to suspicions of his connection to hard drug trafficking activities, particularly cocaine, in Tamenasourt and Sidi Ibrahim Oasis, as well as suspected trafficking in some nightclubs.
The apprehension of the individual came after a tight ambush supervised by the commander of the judicial center in Tamenasourt, following a three-day surveillance of his movements. He was then surprised and arrested while attempting to change his car's license plate, in a move suspected of aiming to conceal his identity and avoid detection.
The operation, according to the same information, resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of capsules suspected of containing cocaine, which were prepared for trafficking. Meanwhile, another person who was with the arrested individual managed to escape, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend him.
The suspect is expected to undergo the legal procedures in place, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, to uncover all the circumstances and details of the case, and to identify the potential extensions of this alleged criminal activity.
This operation falls within the framework of security efforts aimed at combating the illegal trafficking of hard drugs, pursuing wanted individuals, and confronting networks suspected of operating in the vicinity of Tamenasourt and neighboring areas, while emphasizing that the suspect remains innocent until proven guilty by a final court ruling.
