King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to Ahmed Touizi on the occasion of his election as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The message stated: "On the occasion of your election as Speaker of the House of Representatives, we are pleased to extend our warmest congratulations to you, wishing you complete success in your new parliamentary duties."
The King said, "We hope that the trust you have gained to hold this high constitutional position, and the long parliamentary experience you have accumulated, will be of great assistance to you in making every effort, along with all members of the House of Representatives, to contribute effectively and efficiently, with a spirit of sincere citizenship, to enhancing the performance of this esteemed institution, whether in terms of improving and accelerating the pace of legislative and oversight work, or in terms of ensuring with utmost care that the supreme interest of the nation and citizens is placed above all considerations, in accordance with the ethical responsibility of parliamentary practice and the gravity of bearing its trust."
The King added, "We ask Almighty God to guide your steps and grant success to you and all members of the Council in carrying out your noble duties, encompassed by Our abundant favor and contentment."
