HIBAPRESS – Khalil Fazzazi
The Smara municipality is preparing to launch a new urban renewal project in Al-Salam neighborhood, through the construction of five public squares aimed at improving the aesthetics of residential spaces and providing new recreational areas for residents, as part of the efforts to develop the urban landscape and enhance the quality of life within the city.
In this context, Engineer Moulay Brahim Cherif, President of the Smara Municipal Council, made a field visit to the neighborhood, to observe the preparations and the technical and logistical arrangements preceding the start of work, and to assess the various aspects related to the implementation of this project.
This visit falls within the framework of the field follow-up approach adopted by the presidency of the municipal council to monitor development projects and assess the readiness of projects before their implementation, which helps ensure their execution according to the set objectives.
The five squares are expected to add new open spaces to Al-Salam neighborhood, providing better opportunities for rest, recreation, and social gatherings for residents, as well as contributing to improving the organization of urban space and enhancing its attractiveness.
The development of squares and public spaces is one of the essential components of urban renewal, given their role in improving the quality of life, providing shared spaces for social interaction, and adding aesthetic appeal to residential neighborhoods.
This project comes in the context of the Smara municipality's continued implementation of programs aimed at modernizing the urban infrastructure and caring for public spaces, with a focus on improving living conditions within neighborhoods and responding to the daily needs of the residents.
