HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
The continued accumulation of mud and flood debris in a street located in the Bougherman neighborhood of Beni Bouayach, in the Al Hoceima province, has sparked resentment among a number of residents of the area, who questioned the reasons for this street not being included in the cleaning operations and removal of debris from the recent rainfall.
The street in question holds particular importance, given its connection to the national road leading to the Driouch province, in addition to witnessing significant daily movement of citizens and vehicles, making the presence of mud and debris a source of concern for residents and road users. Those affected have called on the relevant authorities to intervene as soon as possible to remove the accumulated mud and debris and restore the situation to normal, to avoid any potential risks to the safety of pedestrians and road users, and to ensure smooth traffic flow. Residents also called for the adoption of a balanced approach in addressing the effects of the floods, ensuring that various neighborhoods and streets of the city benefit from cleaning operations and field interventions, especially areas with high citizen traffic density. The question remains about the criteria used in determining the streets that benefit from flood debris removal operations, and the reasons for not including this street in the interventions carried out so far.
