HIBAPRESS – Follow-up
The Money Crimes Chamber at the Casablanca Court of Appeal upheld the initial ruling against "A. H. S.", the parliamentarian and former head of the municipality of El Jadida.
The court, in its session that lasted until the late hours of last night, sentenced the accused to nine years in prison and a fine of 50 million centimes, against the backdrop of his involvement in financial and administrative corruption cases related to public contracts.
The case had erupted in 2019, after the Moroccan Organization for the Protection of Citizenship and Money filed a complaint with the King's Attorney, revealing irregularities in development projects in El Jadida, which led to the opening of investigations that ended with the arrest of a number of those involved.
