The Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fatiha El-Aloui, responded strongly to a parliamentarian from the Justice and Development Party's demand for her resignation, against the backdrop of managing the pension system reform file, during the oral question session in the House of Representatives today, Monday.
The Minister affirmed, in her comments, that she would not resign, pointing out that this file had not been addressed earlier, saying: "If your government had taken charge of this file and not left it to us, I wouldn't have needed to resign."
Fatiha El-Aloui stressed her full responsibility in this reform project, explaining that the government had held a series of meetings with social partners and trade unions, and that it would present its vision for reform at the appropriate time.
She highlighted that the pension file is one of the complex files that requires dealing with precise digital data, stressing that "it does not benefit any party, neither the government, the trade unions, nor the political actors", but rather requires collective responsibility to find solutions that guarantee the rights of citizens and retirees.
The Minister stressed continuing to work until the last day of her duties, saying: "I will not resign and I will work until the last day", confirming that the reform will be carried out in a framework of transparency and responsibility.
