The National Council of Notaries, through its executive office, has called for the resumption of work in all notary offices across the national territory starting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
The office explained in a statement that this decision came after the House of Representatives approved today, Tuesday, draft law No. 16.22 regarding the organization of the notary profession, and the amendments and legislative provisions it contained. The statement noted that the approved draft law did not respond to all the substantial amendments that the council had demanded be included, while announcing, in the same context, its intention to pursue the procedure of challenging the constitutionality of some of the articles contained in it. In contrast, the National Council of Notaries stressed that the decision to return to resuming work comes within the framework of invoking professional and national responsibility, giving precedence to the supreme interest of the nation, and ensuring the continuity of the documentation facility in a way that guarantees serving the interests of citizens.
