On Tuesday, May 5th, the first flights of beneficiaries of the "Makkah Route" initiative from Morocco arrived, via Rabat-Salé International Airport, to Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina.
The "Makkah Route" initiative, in its eighth year, which is one of the leading initiatives of the Saudi Ministry of Interior within the "Serving the Guests of God" program, one of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs, targets ten countries: Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Maldives, and Brunei Darussalam, through 17 international ports. The Saudi Press Agency reported that the "Makkah Route" initiative aims to provide high-quality services to the guests of God from the beneficiary countries, by receiving them and completing their procedures in their countries with ease and convenience, starting from taking vital characteristics and issuing the Hajj visa electronically, passing through completing passport procedures at the departure airport, after verifying the availability of health requirements, and coding and sorting luggage according to transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom, up to their direct transfer to buses; to transport them to their places of residence in the Makkah and Medina regions, via dedicated routes, while the partner authorities take care of delivering their luggage to them. It is worth mentioning that yesterday, at Rabat-Salé airport, the "Makkah Route Initiative" was launched, which allows the smooth transfer of pilgrims' luggage from the moment of departure until its arrival at the place of residence without the need to receive it upon arrival.
