This morning, the body of a 25-year-old Moroccan young man was found in the Italian city of Venice, after he drowned in one of the canals in the San Polo area.
Local sources reported that a report was received by the authorities from citizens who reported a person falling into the waters of “Rio di San Polo” without being able to get out, which necessitated the intervention of the Carabinieri elements urgently, before calling the diving teams of the firefighters, who were able to recover the body near the financial police headquarters. Preliminary data confirmed the identity of the victim as a Moroccan citizen, while the Italian authorities launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident, including the possibility that his fall was accidental. Field investigations and gathering statements from the vicinity of the place are continuing as part of the open investigation.
