The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated on Monday that in its response to the recent American proposal, it demanded an end to the war in the entire region and the release of frozen assets abroad.
The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghaei, said on Monday that Tehran's proposal to end the war with the United States and open the Strait of Hormuz is legitimate and generous, adding that Washington continues to cling to unreasonable and unilateral demands. Baghaei said: "Our demand is legitimate: to demand an end to the war, lift the siege and piracy, and release the Iranian assets that were unjustly frozen in banks due to US pressure." He added: "Safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and establishing security in the region and Lebanon are among Iran's other demands, and this is a generous and responsible offer for the security of the region." The ministry spokesman stated at the weekly press conference: "We have not asked for any concessions. The only thing we have demanded is Iran's legitimate rights."
