The case of the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein has witnessed new developments, after French Prosecutor Laure Beccu revealed that nearly ten additional people have filed complaints with the Public Prosecution in Paris, confirming that they are among his victims.
The French authorities have opened an extensive investigation into cases of "human trafficking," following the publication by the United States of thousands of documents related to Epstein, with the aim of uncovering the identities of those suspected of assisting him within France, whether through luring victims or facilitating his activities.
The prosecutor confirmed that the investigations are still in their early stages, indicating that no suspect has been interrogated yet, while the number of complaints has risen to about twenty, including people the authorities were not previously aware of.
The investigations also include names associated with the fashion world, including the late modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, and the former president of the "Elite" agency, Gerald Marie, along with another man named Daniel Sead, who is also under investigation in Paris.
The prosecution explained that it had recovered Epstein's computer, address books, and communication data, which are currently undergoing detailed analysis, as the authorities seek to expand international judicial cooperation to uncover all potential suspects.
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in 2019 on charges related to the sexual exploitation of minors and conspiracy, before being found dead inside his cell in August of the same year, while the forensic report concluded that the death was the result of suicide.
