The city of Casablanca witnessed, yesterday, the signing of a multi-party partnership agreement, within the framework of the official launch and commencement of work on the Moroccan Foreign Trade Portal, in the presence of a number of ministerial sectors, public institutions, and stakeholders in the foreign trade system in the Kingdom.

This structural initiative falls within the national dynamic aimed at simplifying, digitizing, and modernizing foreign trade procedures, in line with national directives related to digital transformation, improving the business climate, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy. The launch ceremony was attended by Riyad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water, and Abdelsamad Sekkoumi, Minister of Transport and Logistics, along with the Director General of the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Tangier Med Special Agency, and the Director General of the National Ports Agency, as well as representatives of economic bodies and partner institutions. The Moroccan Foreign Trade Portal aims to provide a unified digital platform that enables economic actors to complete various procedures related to import and export operations in an integrated and digital manner, which contributes to facilitating trade transactions and reducing the deadlines for administrative processing. In this context, the Secretary of State in charge of Fisheries affirmed the involvement of the fisheries sector in this national dynamic, along with a number of institutions concerned with foreign trade procedures, especially the National Office for Food Safety and Morocco Foodex, within the framework of an approach based on integration and coordination between various stakeholders. She added that this step would enhance the fluidity of trade transactions and strengthen the presence of Moroccan marine products in international markets, especially since the sector annually issues approximately 38,000 catch certificates to accompany exports of Moroccan fisheries products, which reflects the strategic importance of this digital workshop for the sector's competitiveness.
