The General Directorate of Information Systems Security has warned of several dangerous security vulnerabilities in the Google Chrome browser, urging users of affected versions to update the browser to avoid the risks associated with these vulnerabilities.
The bulletin, issued on September 7, 2026, clarified that the vulnerabilities affect Chrome versions prior to version 152.0.7977.82 on Linux, and prior to versions 152.0.7977.82/.83 on Windows and Mac systems.
Among the discovered vulnerabilities is a "zero-day" vulnerability, which is being actively exploited. It affects the "V8" engine and can allow a remote attacker to execute code within the browser through a specially crafted "HTML" page.
The bulletin added that exploiting the remaining patched vulnerabilities could lead to remote code execution, bypassing some security protection mechanisms, or disclosure of sensitive information, in addition to causing denial of service and affecting data confidentiality and integrity.
The Directorate recommended referring to the security bulletin issued by Google on September 3, 2026, for more details and necessary updates.
