Four students died, while dozens of others were injured with varying degrees of severity, today, Friday, in a serious traffic accident that occurred on the road linking the municipalities of Oulmes and Tarmilat, belonging to the Khémisset province.
According to consistent data, the accident resulted from the driver of a shared transport vehicle losing control of the vehicle, at a time when it was carrying a large number of passengers, most of them students, where the load was estimated at about 40 passengers, who were on their way to spend the Eid al-Adha holiday with their families. The accident caused a state of alert among the local authorities and the civil protection services, which used health transport vehicles belonging to neighboring municipalities to transport the bodies of the victims to the morgue, as well as the injured from the health center in Oulmes to the Khémisset regional hospital to receive the necessary treatments and undergo the necessary medical examinations. The same sources also spoke of an expected visit by the governor of the Khémisset province to the regional hospital, in order to assess the health situation of the injured, with an investigation opened to determine the circumstances and details of the accident and arrange responsibilities.
