Judicial police in the city of Al Hoceima arrested, on Wednesday, October 21, a person working as a waiter in a cafe, on suspicion of involvement in a case related to enticing a minor girl and subjecting her to acts of a sexual nature, following a complaint filed by the girl's family.
According to the available information, the details of the incident date back to Tuesday, October 20, when a girl, about ten years old, from the city of Imzouren, was heading to a commercial establishment in Al Hoceima to run an errand for her sister who resides in the city for her studies.
According to the initial findings of the investigation, it is suspected that the person in question approached the girl and led her to believe that he was a taxi driver, before he transported her in a private car, taking advantage of her belief that she was using public transportation.
The girl's delay in returning caused concern to her sister, who began searching for her, before the girl returned to her later and informed her of what had happened. Following this, the competent security services were notified, and they opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, with the aim of determining all the circumstances of the incident.
The investigations and research carried out led to the identification and arrest of the suspect the following day. It turned out that he works as a waiter in one of the cafes in Al Hoceima. Preliminary data indicated that the car used in the incident was a private car, not a taxi.
The competent authorities are expected to continue their investigations under the supervision of the public prosecution, in order to ascertain the truth of the acts attributed to the suspect, to hear the parties involved, and to take appropriate legal measures in light of the investigation's findings.
The suspect, according to legal rules, benefits from the presumption of innocence until a final judicial ruling is issued in the case.
