This year's harvest season is considered an exceptional event. What distinguished it positively was the abundant good and crops of planting and straw, and what overshadowed it negatively was the specter of fires in the absence of a realistic and wise strategy that would put an end to this danger that destroyed everything and made vast lands as if they had not been enriched yesterday.
The problem of fires that many communities here in the province of Settat experienced was met with a reaction from many, most notably what Dr. and researcher from the region of Mzab "Aziz Roman" went to, recalling what happened: "Difficult years passed, with the farmer and the farmer having difficulty tasting their bitterness, and negatively affected food security and the water table, but God's mercy is vast, as the Kingdom witnessed a rainy and agricultural season par excellence, in which the simple farmer breathed a sigh of relief before the affluent, and all hope of obtaining a good product, perhaps it will make him forget the bitterness of the lean years." The speaker added, wondering, questioning, and questioning the nation's representatives about the limits of their interventions, saying: "I expected the adoption of a plan and the development of a well-established strategy, whether by one of the nation's representatives as elected officials or by the authorities in charge of the sector, even in the form of a verbal question in a parliamentary session in order to reduce the phenomenon of fires that continued to disturb me because it threatens the agricultural crop and threatens food security." The same speaker proposed initiatives that might stop the advance of fires, such as: * Imposing insurance against fire risks, whether for farmers or agricultural machinery and workers in it, with strict supervision in this regard. * Imposing a safety strip, especially for fields and vast connected lands, which is a strip by which the owner of the acre harvests the edges of his land by approximately 6 meters at least, and then plows it well, where God’s decree is that the losses will be small. * Raising citizen awareness through all audio-visual, written, and blue space means to avoid the causes leading to the outbreak of fires. * Creating temporary branches for civil protection or equipping vehicles and deploying them across agricultural areas, especially those known for high temperatures. * Why not use firefighting aircraft for this purpose. * Obligating the owners of agricultural machinery to equip their mechanisms with all technical means of firefighting. The speaker concluded his post by saying, "This is just an opinion and a dream, and God knows best." No one denies that the Chaouia region is considered the agricultural "granary of Morocco" because it has a vast area of fertile land suitable for growing grains of various kinds, not to mention animal production, thus occupying the first ranks in some crops (grains) and in the production of white and red meat, but in return it suffers from several problems, including the specter of fires that have begun to target its agricultural crops every year, which re-raises the file of insurance against the risks surrounding agricultural products in our country on the table again, a problem that now threatens the investments of professionals in the sector and stands as a barrier to the success of the Green Morocco plan strategy that the government is betting on in the future to develop the quality of the agricultural product and raise its competitiveness.
