A gas station at the southern entrance of the city of Azrou, Ifrane province, witnessed a state of alert on the night of Saturday-Sunday after a sudden fire broke out in a motorcycle immediately after it was refueled and started, which necessitated the urgent intervention of civil protection elements.
According to initial data, the fire brigades were able to control the fire in a short time and prevent its spread to the station's facilities, while the flames completely consumed the motorcycle. The accident also resulted in the injury of a woman who was with the motorcycle driver, who was taken to the health institution to receive the necessary treatment. Local authorities and elements of the Royal Gendarmerie opened an investigation, under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, to determine the causes and circumstances of the outbreak of the fire, at a time when the real causes of the accident are still unknown. This rapid intervention comes to spare the station and its surroundings greater risks, given the sensitivity of the place and the presence of flammable materials.
