The city of Berrechid witnessed, late last night, a major security alert in the Al-Ouyayna Al-Muzalaja area, which is part of the Al-Hassani district, after security personnel were forced to use their service weapons during an intervention to stop a person who was in a state of strong agitation and aggression.
According to available data, the person in question, who was under the influence of drugs, showed violent resistance in the face of police officers and attacked them using a white weapon, which posed a real threat to the safety of security personnel and citizens present at the scene.
Given the seriousness of the situation, security personnel were forced to fire three warning shots before one of the shots hit the suspect in the leg, which enabled them to immobilize him and neutralize the danger he posed.
The person in question was transported to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment under security guard, while an investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution to determine all the circumstances and details of this incident.
