Moroccan world champion Khadija Al-Mardi holds the hopes of Moroccan boxing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, after being left alone in the race for the competition.
Today, Thursday, Moroccan boxer Widad Bartal was eliminated after losing to her North Korean competitor Pang Chol-mi in the quarter-finals. Before that, Yasmine Mottaki had been eliminated early from the round of 16 after losing to Filipino Ira Villegas.
Khadija Al-Mardi will face her Australian opponent, Caitlin Parker, next Sunday, starting at 10:48 a.m.
Al Mardi must win his fight against Australia’s Parker to secure Morocco’s first medal at the Olympic Games currently taking place in the French capital Paris.
