Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen suffers serious injury

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was seriously injured during his team’s match against Villarreal on Sunday evening in the sixth round of the Spanish League.
The injury occurred when Ter Stegen attempted to jump to catch the ball, but landed incorrectly on his knee, resulting in a knee injury.
The German goalkeeper left the pitch carried on a stretcher, placing his hands on his face in reference to the intense pain he was feeling, amid a state of anxiety among his teammates and the technical staff.
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick called up young goalkeeper Iñaki Peña to replace Ter Stegen in the 46th minute of the match.
