The French company “Egis Rail” has won a major contract launched by the National Railways Office (ONCF), which aims to provide technical support for the management of the high-speed line extension project between Kenitra and Marrakech.

The project is being implemented through a partnership that includes “Aegis”, the French “Systra” and the Moroccan office “Novec”.

The French magazine “Africa Intelligence” also reports that the contract amount is 1.385 billion dirhams.

Thus, Egis Rail rejected the offer of its Spanish competitor Eneco, which had presented a lower offer of 1.309 billion dirhams.

Despite what some media reported about the award of the project management contract to the Spanish consultancy firm “ENICO”, the magazine “Africa Intelligence” confirmed that the contract had indeed been awarded to a consortium led by “Aegis”.

It is worth noting that when the call for tenders was launched by the ONCF, there were three competing companies, but the Moroccan company “Dar Al-Handasah” was excluded during a review of its administrative documents.
