HIBAPRESS – Meknes
The public transport crisis in the city of Meknes has been ongoing for more than two months, in the absence of urban transport buses, which has led a large number of citizens to face daily difficulties in reaching their workplaces, study centers, hospitals, and various destinations.
In light of this situation, taxis have become the available option for a wide segment of the population, which has led to the formation of long queues in front of their stations, amidst repeated waiting and loss of time, at a time when the citizen finds themselves forced to endure this situation on a daily basis.
The problems are not limited to the absence of buses, but also include waiting conditions at a number of taxi stations, which lack basic amenities, such as shelters from the sun and rain, which increases the suffering of citizens while waiting for a means of transport to take them to their destinations.
As the crisis continues, demands are increasing to find a practical and sustainable solution that reorganizes the public transport system in the city and provides sufficient transport and stations that ensure decent waiting conditions. The question remains: how long will the suffering of Meknes residents with the transport crisis continue?
