HIBAPRESS – Tangier
For weeks, the city of Tangier has been witnessing intensive field campaigns to monitor markets and restaurants, which have resulted in measures being taken against a number of establishments due to violations related to health safety conditions and the quality of food products.
The inspection operations included neighborhood markets spread across several areas of the city, where monitoring committees observed violations related to the display or storage of food items unfit for consumption, including meats and products that had exceeded their expiry dates.
Interventions also extended to a number of restaurants and cafes in areas that see high turnout, as monitoring services recorded irregularities in the conditions for preserving and storing food products, especially concerning frozen meats and their storage conditions.
These campaigns have resulted in warnings and punitive measures being issued, while in some cases it led to the temporary closure of violating establishments, as part of tightening control over health safety conditions and protecting consumers.
