The Royal Gendarmerie's maritime services in the city of Tan-Tan managed to dismantle a network suspected of being linked to organizing irregular migration operations, as part of ongoing security investigations and inquiries to combat migrant smuggling networks in the region.
The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals, aged between 21 and 40, suspected of involvement in activities related to organizing irregular migration trips departing from the southern coasts.
Inspection procedures also led to the seizure of a number of vehicles suspected of being used to transport potential migrants, along with a collection of mobile phones and bladed weapons.
This operation comes in the context of investigations initiated by the competent services following the thwarting of irregular migration attempts off the coasts of Tan-Tan, where security agencies continue to tighten surveillance on coastal areas, with the aim of dismantling networks specialized in migrant smuggling and human trafficking.
The detainees have been placed under judicial investigation, under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, to uncover all circumstances and details of this case and to identify any other individuals potentially linked to this network.
