The Saudi Ministry of Energy announced on Tuesday morning that a number of its facilities and installations in the south of the Kingdom had been targeted.
A source in the ministry stated that the competent authorities have begun to deal with the targeting and take the necessary measures.
The source explained that the targeting resulted in the outbreak of fires in a number of locations, which led to a temporary halt in some operational processes, while specialized field teams began working to contain the fires, secure the sites, and assess the damage.
He added that the targeting resulted in injuries to a number of citizens and residents with varying degrees of severity.
The source confirmed that the competent authorities continue to deal with the repercussions of the targeting, and take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of facilities and workers, and the continuity of work according to approved operational plans.
Dozens were injured in Houthi attacks on cities in southern Saudi Arabia, according to an official Saudi statement announced on Tuesday morning.
