HIBAPRESS. The High Commission for Planning announced that 68% of wholesalers expect stability in their total sales volume for the third quarter of 2026, with 21% anticipating an increase.
The Commission clarified in its memo regarding quarterly surveys on the economic situation in the non-financial commercial services and wholesale trade sectors that this development is mainly attributed, on one hand, to the anticipated increase in sales volume for "other types of specialized wholesale trade" and "wholesale trade of food, beverages, and tobacco." On the other hand, it's due to the expected decrease in sales of "wholesale trade of information and communication equipment."
Regarding the order book level, it is expected to be normal for 73% of wholesalers. Employment is also expected to see stability in the number of employers for 79% of wholesalers.
The same source added that during the second quarter of 2026, sales in the wholesale trade sector in the domestic market might have increased for 21% of wholesalers and remained stable for 60% of them.
The same source explained that this development could be mainly attributed, on one hand, to the increase recorded in sales of "wholesale trade of other industrial equipment" and "wholesale trade of household supplies." On the other hand, it's due to the decrease recorded in sales of "other types of specialized wholesale trade."
Regarding the number of employees, it might have remained stable for 75% of business owners.
The source concluded that the inventory level of goods has stabilized at a normal level for 87% of wholesalers, while selling prices might have increased for 33% of business owners and remained stable for 58% of them.
