The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed on Thursday that Abu Dhabi is committed to its relations with various countries and keen to develop and strengthen them, in the wake of Algeria's decision to sever diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates.
The ministry said in a statement that the UAE "values its relations with all countries and is always keen to develop and strengthen them," in a way that serves common interests and supports understanding, cooperation, and prosperity.
The statement added that Abu Dhabi looks forward to Algeria's decision being "temporary," contributing to preserving "fraternal ties between the two brotherly peoples."
The Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed its appreciation for the Algerian people and its pride in the ties that unite the two peoples, referring in particular to "Algerian community members residing in the country and visitors," and stressing its keenness to continue these ties, common interests, and their strengthening.
Earlier on Thursday, Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the UAE, commented on Algeria's decision in a post on his account on the "X" platform, saying that diplomatic relations "are managed by reason, communication, and clarity of interests," not by what he described as "mysteries and signals that require decoding."
Gargash added that diplomatic relations "cannot be held hostage by internal tension or the inability to explain interests and define priorities," considering that "ambiguity is not a policy and noise does not compensate for the absence of vision."
Gargash concluded by saying that successful diplomacy is based on "clarity of positions and good management of interests and differences," and anything else, according to him, "is merely an expression of a deficiency in vision and management."
