HIBAPRESS – Tangier
A joint committee on Friday raided a fast-food establishment in the Ras El Mossa district of Tangier, resulting in the seizure of approximately 135 kilograms of food items unfit for consumption.
The intervention followed the circulation of a video clip on social media, showing workers at the establishment preparing quantities of meat for shawarma on the establishment's floor, under conditions that sparked widespread discontent.
The operation involved the participation of the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA), the economic affairs department of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region's governorate, civil protection, the Ministry of Health, and the hygiene office, alongside local authorities.
After inspecting the conditions of food preparation and storage, the aforementioned quantity was seized, and legal procedures were taken accordingly.
