Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government and member of the Political Bureau of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), affirmed during a party communication meeting in Msakala, Essaouira province, that the party is entering the upcoming legislative elections based on a five-year track record of work, and an ambitious and realistic program for the next phase. He stressed that the credibility of the RNI is based on fulfilling the commitments made to citizens during the 2021 elections.
Akhannouch stated that more than 70,000 families in Essaouira province benefit from direct social support. He affirmed that the challenge for the next phase is to transition beneficiaries capable of working from receiving support to economic empowerment and income improvement, without their entry into the job market risking the loss of social protection.
He explained that the new provisions will allow direct social support beneficiaries to access employment opportunities and continue to receive support for one year, giving them a period for integration and professional stability.
He added that if the work experience is not sustained, the beneficiary will be able to return to receiving support under the existing conditions, considering this measure will encourage beneficiaries to seek better opportunities to improve their incomes without fear of losing their rights.
In the health sector, Akhannouch reviewed projects aimed at strengthening health services in Essaouira province, recalling the operationalization of the proximity hospital in Timnart and its role in easing the burden on health institutions in Essaouira city.
He revealed that work on the new hospital project in Essaouira is expected to begin at the end of the year, with its completion, according to the data he provided, scheduled within two and a half years.
He also pointed out the need to strengthen health services in the Chiyadma region with a proximity hospital in the future, bringing health services closer to the population and relieving citizens of the inconvenience of traveling to Essaouira city.
At the education level, Akhannouch confirmed that the reform is moving in the right direction, commending the results achieved in Essaouira province and the work of educational staff. He highlighted the "Pioneering Schools" model, noting that coverage rates have reached approximately 80% for primary schools and 50% for middle schools during the current school year, with a move towards full implementation in the next phase.
He considered that the reform of public schools, which began during the current term, should have started years ago, emphasizing that its continuation will allow for improved learning quality, elevation of public institutions, and strengthening of family trust in schools.
The Head of Government touched upon the difficult circumstances that characterized the past five years, along with the accompanying crises and challenges. He pointed out that the government managed, despite these, to maintain the resilience of the economy, implement the social state project, and launch structural reforms in several sectors.
In his political message, Akhannouch affirmed that the RNI's program for the next phase is based on "ambitious and realistic" measures, adding that the party returns to citizens today based on what it has accomplished during the current term.
He said in this regard: "We did what we said we would do in 2021."
As the election date approaches, Akhannouch called on citizens to participate and consider the track record of the past five years and the future programs when making their decisions, emphasizing that every citizen's vote is a responsibility linked to the future of their children and the country's major choices.
He also stressed the need to respect the rules governing political and electoral competition, affirming the party's rejection of any practices that contradict clarity of political affiliation or could be subject to challenges, considering that political action should be based on responsibility and respect for institutions and democratic rules.
Akhannouch concluded by emphasizing that the choice in the upcoming elections should be based on an evaluation of what has been achieved, a review of the proposed future programs, and the selection of men and women capable of shouldering responsibility and continuing the path of reform and achievement.
