HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Daher
HIBAPRESS learned from informed sources that the authorities in Marrakech city stopped the activity of three lemon-selling carts in the heart of Jemaa el-Fna square this Monday afternoon.
According to the same sources, the decision was made after a committee from the economic department of the regional government, the health delegation, and a representative of the authority in the Jemaa el-Fna administrative annex visited, where fruits and juices unfit for consumption were found.
The campaign comes in the context of tightening control in the square, which is one of Marrakech's most prominent tourist destinations, especially with the growing complaints and criticisms related to prices and the quality of some products, as the concerned departments continue their monitoring operations and take legal action against violators.
