HIBAPRESS – Agadir
Royal Gendarmerie elements at the judicial checkpoint at the entrance to the highway in Temskroud, east of Agadir, arrested three Senegalese nationals today, Wednesday, on suspicion of their involvement with a network active in organizing irregular migration and human trafficking.
The arrest of the suspects came after Gendarmerie elements subjected the car they were traveling in to surveillance, before its passengers attempted to offer a sum of money to the patrol members in exchange for overlooking inspection and surveillance procedures.
A search of the car led to the seizure of boats and advanced equipment, suspected of being used to prepare for clandestine migration trips departing from the coastal beaches in the region.
The arrested individuals were taken away, and the car and equipment were seized, before they were transferred to the judicial center of the Royal Gendarmerie for further investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, with the aim of determining all the circumstances of the case and uncovering the potential ramifications of the network, pending the appearance of the suspects before justice.
