Aziz Akhannouch, the head of government and a prominent leader in the National Rally of Independents (RNI), used the Tafraout meeting as an opportunity to highlight the caliber of individuals the party has chosen to represent it in the upcoming elections in the Tiznit province. He emphasized that the endorsement of candidates is based on competence, experience, and the ability to maintain a field presence and serve citizens.
Akhannouch explained during the public gathering, attended by several party leaders and elected officials, that the RNI has bet on individuals with practical experience, including Abdellah El Ghazi, the local list's candidate, and Zakia Driouch, the regional list's candidate. He pointed out that the selection of these competent individuals is linked to their ability to continue advocating for the province's issues and responding to the expectations of its residents.
In this context, Akhannouch recalled his political ties to the Tiznit province, reminding attendees that his political career began in Tafraout in 2003. He described Tafraout as a school for him in field work and a gradual ascent through responsibilities, from the municipal council to the provincial council, the regional presidency, then parliamentary representation, and eventually holding the portfolio of Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, leading to his current position as head of government.
The RNI leader linked this journey to the trust of the citizens and the support he has received over the years, emphasizing that political work for him has always been associated with presence, communication, and proximity to the people.
While discussing achievements in the province, Akhannouch presented data related to completed programs and projects, noting the rehabilitation and construction of over 1000 kilometers of roads in the last decade, including approximately 500 kilometers in the past six years, aimed at breaking isolation and improving connectivity between areas.
He also mentioned that more than 14,000 farmers benefited from programs that included valorizing almond and carob products and goat farming, in addition to projects related to water and its supply points.
In the health sector, Akhannouch announced the completion of major works at the Tafraout local hospital, which is set to become operational by the beginning of 2028. He added that the restructuring and modernization of the Tiznit hospital will commence before the end of the current year.
He also addressed the education sector, highlighting that schools in the district have been transformed into pioneering schools with 100% effectiveness, and the rate of school dropout has decreased to 0.3%. Furthermore, the network of local sports fields and training centers has been expanded.
In conclusion, Akhannouch urged the residents of Tafraout, Anzi, and Tiznit to support the party's candidates, asserting that the next phase requires continuing work with the same approach of proximity and field presence. He stressed that the RNI has chosen candidates for this mission who, he said, possess the competence, experience, and ability to continue serving the province.
