Wydad Athletic Club praised the decision issued by the United Nations Security Council, which adopted the initiative of self-governance in the Moroccan Sahara under the full sovereignty of the Kingdom, considering that this international stance constitutes a new victory for the wise Moroccan diplomacy led by King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory.
A formal statement published by the club on its social media accounts stated: “Hicham Ait Menna, president of Wydad Athletic Club, expresses, in his name and on behalf of all the club’s components — administration, players, technical staff, and fans — his great pride in the decision issued by the United Nations Security Council, which adopted the initiative of self-governance presented by Morocco as a realistic and just solution to the issue of the Moroccan Sahara.” The statement added that Wydad sees in this international decision the consolidation of Morocco's position as a force for stability and development in Africa and the world, and a clear indication of the wide international support for the Moroccan vision based on peace and cooperation. The Red club concluded its statement by affirming that Wydad, as a major national edifice, will continue to defend the Moroccan colors in various competitions, dedicating every coming victory to a unified nation from Tangier to El Guerguarate, embodying the values of belonging and loyalty to the nation and the King.
