HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
This morning, the sea waves washed ashore a dolphin's body of the striped dolphin species at Souani Beach, west of Al-Hoceima city. The scene attracted the attention of several citizens and those present at the location, bringing back to the forefront the issue of the dangers threatening marine wealth on the Mediterranean coast.
Initial examination of the body revealed a clear and serious injury to the tail, raising questions about the circumstances of the dolphin's death. Unconfirmed speculations suggest a possible link to fishing nets, pending further investigations and expert analyses that competent authorities may conduct.
Official examinations are expected to reveal the actual causes of the dolphin's death, while calls are increasing to strengthen the protection of the marine environment and reduce practices that could threaten biodiversity on the Mediterranean coast.
