HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Zerouih
The province of Nador witnessed, this Sunday, an electoral gathering for the Authenticity and Modernity Party, dedicated to supporting Mohamed El Momeni, the party's candidate for the local constituency, in the presence of Fouzi Lekjaa, Younes Sekkouri, and a number of the party's leaders and elected officials, amidst a massive public turnout, during the final days of the election campaign.
In his speech, Fouzi Lekjaa did not limit himself to the electoral aspect, but rather addressed the future of Nador and its position within the developmental system of the Oriental region, considering that the future of the region will be linked to Nador, in view of the major projects the area is witnessing, foremost among them the Nador West-Med port, the water desalination plant, and the sports complex under construction.
Lekjaa linked the Nador West-Med port to the expected economic dynamism, pointing to the potential of the project to develop industrial and logistical activities and enhance investment opportunities. This comes in the context of a project that the Kingdom announced its components include an industrial, logistical, and energy platform, with public and private investments amounting to 51 billion dirhams, according to data announced in January 2026.
Lekjaa also addressed the water desalination plant project, considering that providing a sufficient water supply can give a new boost to agricultural activity in the region, in addition to its contribution to supporting various economic activities. He also congratulated the residents of Nador on the sports complex under construction, placing it among the projects that will strengthen the sports infrastructure in the province.
Lekjaa affirmed that the impact of the major projects in Nador, according to his vision, will not stop at the borders of the province, but can extend to various provinces of the Oriental region, calling for the region as a whole to benefit from the developmental dynamism the area is experiencing.
Lekjaa concluded his speech with a message to the people of the Oriental region, saying: "Please do not forget your brothers in the Oriental region," emphasizing the need for the fruits of developmental projects to extend to the vicinity of Nador and the region as a whole. This meeting is part of the final electoral moves of the Authenticity and Modernity Party to support Mohamed El Momeni in the legislative elections.
