US President Donald Trump, on Tuesday, considered Iran to be the primary sponsor of terrorism in the world, noting that the Iranian regime has taken lives for decades, seeks to possess a nuclear bomb, and continues to develop ballistic missiles.
In his speech before the UN General Assembly, the US President stated that he had initiated negotiations with Iran to end its support for terrorism and halt its nuclear program, but it refused. He stressed at the same time that Iran will never obtain a nuclear weapon.
In his remarks, Trump pointed out that the Iranian regime killed more than 72,000 Iranians this year, while inflation in Iran reached 300%. He also stated that 159 Iranian ships are at the bottom of the sea thanks to American military operations, and that the US Navy escorted more than one billion barrels through Hormuz.
Trump described the Iranian regime as "weak and miserable," calling on all countries to isolate Iran economically.
The US President revealed that he is considering the option between reaching an agreement with Iran or pushing it "to hell."
Trump added, "Do I push them to hell without any chance of survival, without hope for future greatness or future generations?" He added that he believes reaching an agreement with Tehran is possible after the midterm elections in the United States in November.
The war launched by the United States and Israel on Iran in late February is not popular in the United States, especially as its repercussions include rising fuel prices amid Tehran's closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz.
Trump affirmed, "I believe we will reach an agreement immediately after the elections, because it makes no sense for them not to do so… They are waiting to see how we do in the midterm elections. What they don't realize is that I am not a candidate. I have already done this and achieved a landslide victory."
The American President defended his war against Iran before the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, saying that Tehran is no longer the dominant power it once was in the Middle East.
Speaking at the opening of the UN's high-level annual debate, which involves leaders from around the world in New York, Trump said, "They were the bully in the Middle East, but they are no longer."
Trump said he has remained steadfast throughout his political career in his insistence on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
He added, "I will never allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapon."
Iranian representatives in the General Assembly hall listened to Trump's statements without showing any clear reaction.
Regarding South America, Trump vowed to use American military force to protect Washington's interests in Latin America.
Trump said, "The United States will no longer allow threats directed at America to take root anywhere in the Western Hemisphere. And if necessary, we will use our unparalleled military strength to protect the vital national interests of the United States."
In another context, the US President called on all countries to withdraw from the International Criminal Court, describing it as "out of control."
Trump told the UN General Assembly that "the United States opposes the out-of-control institution known as the International Criminal Court," calling on "all member states of the International Criminal Court to immediately withdraw from this rogue institution."
Regarding the Greenland agreement, President Donald Trump affirmed that the United States will build two large military bases in the region under an agreement with Denmark to be signed later on Tuesday.
Trump explained, "We will immediately begin the process of establishing a significant military presence at appropriate locations. We will build two very large military bases."
The US President also announced that his country will soon be able to supply its allies with ammunition, including missiles, faster.
Trump explained in his speech before the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, "Large ammunition factories will be opened in the near future. The world's best defense companies are currently building 18 factories, some of which will be ready very quickly, which will lead to a very rapid distribution of missiles and ammunition of all types, and we will be able to supply our allies much faster than is currently the case."
