HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Zerouih
The regional secretariat of the Justice and Development Party (PJD) in Nador has entered the fray regarding what it described as imbalances and violations witnessed during the voting process for the legislative elections of September 23, 2026, calling on the competent authorities to intervene and investigate a number of incidents it said it monitored on election day.
The party stated, in a statement of condemnation, that its observers recorded, according to its account, the intervention of individuals it identified as known to influence the choices of voters and direct their votes in favor of a specific party, in several polling station vicinities and centers, including Omar Mukhtar School in Ahdaden, Workers School in Al-Ruaisi neighborhood, Ahdaden Center School, and Ibn Hazm School in Al-Arasi neighborhood, in addition to Isban Middle School and Al-Fattouaki High School. The statement also spoke of what it described as the intensive spread of electoral money usage, pointing to Oulad Boutayeb 1 School, and to a cafe near Al-Faydh School and Al-Madani neighborhood school. It added that the party monitored, according to its statement, the movements of a group of individuals from an office belonging to the syndic in Diyar Arid, which included knocking on the doors of neighboring homes and transporting voters by car, with claims of offering financial compensation to vote for a specific entity. The regional secretariat considered that the data it provided in its statement necessitates urgent intervention from administrative and judicial authorities, calling on the territorial administration of Nador province and the Public Prosecution at the Court of First Instance to take the necessary measures to verify these allegations and take legal consequences, if the attributed facts are proven. The party concluded its statement by emphasizing the need to protect the freedom of voters' choices and preserve the integrity of the electoral process, calling on various stakeholders to be vigilant and to confront, in its words, all practices that could influence the will of voters or compromise the integrity of the electoral contest.
