Partial results of the vote counting process, on Wednesday evening, showed Hassan Barkani, candidate of the Independence Party, leading the results in a number of polling stations in the Anfa district of Casablanca, according to preliminary data gathered from the scene.
According to this data, Barkani has recorded progress in a number of polling stations, while counting and tabulation operations continue in the remaining stations belonging to the district, amid anticipation from various candidates and party representatives.
The results recorded at this stage remain partial and unofficial, and do not necessarily reflect the final outcome of the competition at the Anfa district level, pending the completion of counting all votes and compiling the polling station minutes.
The picture is expected to become clearer with the continued arrival of minutes and data from various stations, before the official results are announced by the competent authorities.
