The Justice and Development Party (PJD) recorded a remarkable increase in the number of its seats in the House of Representatives during the legislative elections held yesterday, Wednesday, after obtaining 54 seats, compared to 13 seats in the 2021 elections.
The party added 41 seats to its parliamentary tally compared to the previous election, increasing its total to more than four times what it achieved five years ago.
The Justice and Development Party had experienced a significant decline in the 2021 elections, when it went from leading the government and the forefront in the 2016 elections to obtaining only 13 seats, according to official results.
In the 2026 elections, the party came in fourth place in terms of the number of seats, behind the Authenticity and Modernity Party with 97 seats, the National Rally of Independents with 66 seats, and the Independence Party with 65 seats.
