HIBAPRESS – Nador
A post on the official Facebook page of the Nador Provincial Council has sparked controversy in local circles, after the page included congratulations to the President of the Provincial Council, Said Rahmouni, for his daughter Sanaa Rahmouni, following her victory in securing a seat in the House of Representatives for the regional constituency under the Socialist Union of Popular Forces party.
The congratulations, which were posted in the name of the Council President, its members, and employees, and which mentioned the daughter receiving 21,351 votes according to the information in the post, was deleted after the ensuing controversy.
Followers of local affairs questioned the criteria adopted for using the Council's official page to publish a family-oriented congratulatory message, especially given its connection to a family member of the head of the elected institution winning in the legislative elections.
