HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Following the announcement of the results of the elections for members of the House of Representatives, which took place on September 23, 2026, the Constitutional Union Party and the Democratic Social Movement Party announced their decision to enter the twelfth legislative session within a joint parliamentary group.
The two parties explained, in a joint statement signed by the Secretary-General of the Constitutional Union Party, Mohamed Jodar, and the Secretary-General of the Democratic Social Movement Party, Abdel Samad Archane, that the decision comes in consideration of the "convergence and harmony" that unites them, and based on the experience of joint parliamentary work they accumulated during the previous legislative session.
The statement indicated that the previous experience enabled the two parties to achieve a joint political and parliamentary presence, as well as "integration in work and harmony in performance," which prompted the leaderships of the two parties and their parliamentarians to continue this path during the upcoming session.
Under the agreement, the two parties agreed to build on the joint parliamentary experience and enhance the group's effectiveness and presence within the House of Representatives, enabling it to carry out its constitutional roles.
The two parties also committed to working on improving legislative, oversight, and advocacy performance, and adopting an approach based on harmony and integration among the group's various components, with the aim of defending the causes and expectations of citizens.
