A fire broke out on Friday morning in the Tanganese forest, located in the Abrouj area of the Bab Taza district, prompting a major mobilization of various authorities and concerned parties to control and extinguish the flames.
The Governor of Chefchaouen province, Zakaria Hachlaf, went to the scene to follow and monitor the progress of the intervention and firefighting operations.
To prevent the spread of the flames, significant human and logistical resources were deployed. In the field, elements from Water and Forests, Forest Fires, Civil Protection, local authorities, auxiliary forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, alongside members of the National Emergency and representatives of the local community and residents of the area who mobilized to assist the rescue teams, are participating.
"Canadair" type aircraft, specialized in extinguishing forest fires, were also involved in the field intervention to carry out targeted aerial sorties, supported by tanker trucks and four-wheel-drive vehicles designated for rapid intervention in difficult terrain.
Field and air teams continue their intensive efforts until this hour to control and contain the fire to limit its forest and environmental damage.
