Artist Al-Bashir Abdo expressed his shock and sorrow following the issuance of the new appellate ruling in the case of his son Saad Lamjarred in France, which stipulated an intensified sentence to 10 years of effective imprisonment.
Al-Bashir Abdo posted a picture of himself in front of the French court headquarters on his "Instagram" account, accompanied by a message in which he affirmed that his son "is wronged," pointing out that the defense team presented clear evidence and data before the court and the Public Prosecution.
The Court of Assize of Appeal in the city of Créteil (Tribunal Judiciaire de Créteil), in the suburbs of the French capital, Paris, had issued a ruling to intensify the prison sentence issued against Saad Lamjarred to 10 years of effective imprisonment.
This judicial development comes after a review of the case before the Court of Appeal in Créteil, where Lamjarred's defense team considered that the data and arguments presented were sufficient for his acquittal, while the artist's father described the sentence issued against his son as unfair.
