An security operation carried out by the Spanish National Police in the occupied city of Ceuta has revealed the presence of 14 migrants inside an apartment in overcrowded conditions. The intervention began following a report of a violation of a court order to stay away.
Upon the arrival of police officers at the house, a man was arrested on suspicion of violating the judicial order. Security elements then noticed a large number of people inside the apartment, who turned out to be migrants without residency documents and who did not speak Spanish.
Investigations, according to information from Spanish media sources, revealed that the migrants were paying 15 euros per person per day for accommodation inside the apartment. This led the police to arrest the woman who requested their intervention, on suspicion of facilitating irregular migration by harboring migrants in exchange for money.
This operation comes in the context of the continued monitoring by Spanish authorities of what are known as "migrant apartments" in occupied Ceuta, where migrants are housed in residences for financial sums and in overcrowded conditions.
