The decline of the National Rally of Independents party in the September 23 elections was not merely a shift from the top of the rankings to second place, but the results carried another political indicator related to the map of candidates and the "transfer market" movement that characterized the pre-election phase.
During the weeks preceding the elections, there were cases of elected officials and leaders who were affiliated with the Independents and other major parties who moved to the "PAM".
It is noteworthy that the "PAM" did not wait for election day to begin changing the balance of power, but rather worked in the preceding months to expand its circle of attraction.
Here, the name Faouzi Lakjaa emerges as one of the most prominent arrivals to the Authenticity and Modernity Party, after he officially joined the party's political leadership months before the elections and contested the legislative elections under its banner.
This shift was not isolated from a broad recruitment movement that the "PAM" witnessed in the period preceding the vote, especially in a number of constituencies where the National Rally of Independents had a strong electoral and organizational presence.
Consequently, part of the story of the Independents' decline may not be solely linked to what the voter did in the ballot box, but to what happened before that within the parties themselves.
Ultimately, the September 23 elections did not remove the Independents from the scene, but they changed their position from the lead to second place and confirmed the citizens' renewed confidence once again in the Dove.
