The municipality of Amaln in the province of Tiznit witnessed a new experiment in implementing alternative punishments, after one of the convicted individuals was enabled to serve his sentence in the framework of public service, a step reflecting the gradual shift towards punitive approaches based on reform and reintegration.
The implementation of the sentence was carried out in coordination between the municipality of Amaln and the prison institution in Tiznit. The individual in question joined a number of tasks related to the municipal facility, according to the specific regulations for this type of punishment, with the execution period subject to monitoring and follow-up.
The municipality of Amaln considered this experiment a practical stage to test the effectiveness of alternative punishments at the local level, especially by combining the implementation of the judicial decision with providing a beneficial service to society. It also expressed its readiness to continue cooperation in this field, contributing to supporting the philosophy of reform and reintegration and reducing recourse to custodial sentences in cases permitted by law.
