The Motherhood House in Ait Baha hosted a training course for community mediators, dedicated to developing mechanisms for managing and administering the community health system in the field of mother and child health and nutrition. This is within the framework of implementing the axes of the Fourth Program of the National Initiative for Human Development, related to promoting human capital for future generations.
The course was organized by the Social Action Department of the Chichaoua Ait Baha province, in partnership with the Health District of the province and the Friendship Association of the Motherhood House in Ait Baha. It served as an occasion for exchanging experiences and expertise and strengthening coordination among various stakeholders, while considering the specificities of rural and mountainous areas. The role played by community mediators in raising awareness about health and social services, communication, sensitization, and supporting women and children was also highlighted, aiming to bring services closer to the population.
The course program included presentations and interventions by health sector professionals. These covered topics related to pregnancy, monitoring the sensory and motor development of children, healthcare for newborns, and proper nutrition for mothers and children. The experience of El Youssoufia province in community health was also reviewed, with the aim of exploring ways to benefit from its practices and adapt them to local specificities.
This initiative falls within a comprehensive approach aimed at strengthening the health offer in various areas of the province and overcoming constraints related to mother and child health, by training and qualifying local actors and developing interventions consistent with sectoral programs and the objectives of the National Initiative for Human Development.
