In light of the steady rise in international fuel prices and their repercussions on the national market, the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Rabat, a meeting of the Ministerial Committee tasked with monitoring the repercussions of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East on the national economy. It was decided to continue disbursing direct and exceptional support for professionals in the goods and passenger transport sector, with the support amount to accompany the rise in fuel prices. The governmental decision comes in order to continue ensuring the regularity of market supply and the continuation of public transport services at the current rates without any increase for citizens.
The committee reviewed the availability of energy reserves and the continued supply of agricultural and essential goods to the national market under normal conditions. It was also confirmed that the national market is being supplied regularly despite geopolitical tensions and the pressure on global energy product procurement, as the Kingdom has a reserve stock of butane gas and diesel covering 40 to 60 days.
