The motorcycle squad of the Agadir security district, on the afternoon of Friday, October 2nd, managed to arrest a person with a criminal record, who was living in a state of homelessness, on suspicion of involvement in a case related to intoxication and intentional harm to others using a corrosive substance.
The details of the case go back to the suspect spraying a person with a corrosive substance on the face, while they were inside a fast-food restaurant in Agadir, an incident that was documented by a video clip that went viral on social media pages and websites.
Investigations and inquiries initiated by the security services led to the identification of the suspect, before his arrest this afternoon. A search resulted in the seizure of a bottle containing a corrosive substance suspected of being used in the commission of the criminal act.
The suspect has been placed under police custody, at the disposal of the judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, to uncover all the circumstances and details of the case, determine the true background and motives behind these actions, as well as verify the suspect's connection to similar acts.
